Scientists discovered that while people read, they can actually feel what the characters in the book are feeling:
(quote from article):
"But what's really wild about the results was that the researchers found that a totally different part of the brain was activated while the participants were reading — a region of the brain that's associated with physical sensation and movement, which makes it more possible to "transport" yourself into the body of the narrator in the book and feel what they're feeling.”
Neuroscientist Gregory Berns, the director of Emory’s Center for Neuropolicy and lead author of the study, explained these awesome findings:
"The neural changes that we found associated with physical sensation and movement systems suggest that reading a novel can transport you into the body of the protagonist.
We already knew that good stories can put you in someone else’s shoes in a figurative sense. Now we’re seeing that something may also be happening biologically.”
(my thoughts):
What they DO NOT theorize in the article is that the effect may actually be just the opposite.
That THEY are inhabiting YOU. Or at least it may be a vice versa situation and you somehow are bringing thought forms to life and can feel what they feel and they can feel what you feel, because they are suddenly "inside" you or shadowing you.
I know FOR A FACT that this happens with television/video, and that the intelligence utilizing the TV can actually work their way into your physical reality through the use of hypnosis, depending on how much energy you give them. So, it makes sense that it may actually translate to something non-technical, like a book. IF we are actually living in a matrix-type reality, where virtually everything can come to life and is simply code.
