A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste

The main character in "Get Out" mentions that he was watching TV when he found out his mom died. I believe this is code for having killed his own mother (his mind) by watching too much TV.

He sat on his bed (the sunken place) in front of a TV, rather than participating in real life.
